Were do all the other instrument sounds come from when
there is only one person playing?

Ive seen various ways to accomplish this. Many use midi files played either thru a computer or other midi format player, that will play any or all parts.. for example.. if you are a guitar player, you could have the midi tracks play the drums and bass, you filling in the rest on the gutar and vocals. Its a pretty common practice, and the good thing about these midi files is that you can change the key to suit you.

A one man band, is what they call a person with this huge contraption that has a bunch of instruments with triggers set in certian places so he can make the sound using his hads, feet and mouth. You know, like **** Van Dyke did in 'Mary Poppins'.
