It sounds like its just baby... My experience was that at different stages my belly felt different. You are very slim so my guess is its baby. There is also something in early pregnancy called "bowel distension". That is when that growing baby/uterus push out your other internal organs...Right now your baby is like the size of a peanut, but with all the extra blood & fluids..it could push it out a little. My reccomendation is get a good book about pregnancy!

Hi, I'm pregnant (15 weeks), it's my 4th pregnancy, but I remember my first. At that time I was also very fit (I was in the army) but gained a lot of water weight. Also you do gain a lot of blood during pregnancy, I'm not sure how much exactly but it's like a liter or so more. So those two things combined helped me to gain 15lbs in my first trimester - much to my shock. Also, since I was naturally thin and never had to pay attention to my diet I ate whatever I wanted and that caused me to gain extra weight. It sounds like you take good care of yourself so I wouldn't worry about it. If your doctor thinks your fine then you are fine. Also, somebody mentioned that you could be carrying the baby in such a way that you show earlier, or sometimes constipation is a problem and you could be backed up (tends to be an issue with me), or it could be twins. Everybody and every pregnancy is different. I wouldn't worry about it. Your body naturally softens a bit I think in order to help you be more comfortable in pregnancy and to help protect the baby. Hope your answers help.

I was huge at 3 months and I have a friend who didn't show t all until about 7 months with both her pregnancies. Everybody's different.
I know what you mean about standing vs laying down though. It's a huge difference in what it looks like. Standing up, I just felt fat. Laying down, I felt like a beached whale!
My belly got incredibly hard too. Felt weird, but is normal.

My sister first child at 3 months she looks like she was 6 months pregnant. At six months she look like 8 or 9 months. At 9 month she looked the same. Some people get big early.
I also knew someone at 8 months, she did not look pregnant.
Good luck. I hope this help

its probably baby. at 12 weeks your baby its like 3 inches long but your uterus is popping out of the pelvis area which causes you to show. if you want a good book get "your pregnancy week by week"

Since you are thin, yes its usual. For those like myself who have a little extra in the truck, I didn't show until I was six months with my first pregnancy.

i'm preg with my 2nd...34 wks and look like i'm 4 months of a regular woman who is pregnant. it all has to do with muscle tone and how close you carry your baby to your body. i didn't start showing with either of mine until 6/7 months. you're fine and your baby is fine too... i'm 5'2.5" so, i really don't look prego at all! good luck!!!

You truly sound very, very normal to me :) It's all related to the pregnancy - and with your height & weight, it isn't unusual that you are already starting to show. Congrats!!
