It depends on the car, but usually they take about 10 minutes to replace.
Just look on the exhaust pipe ahead of your catalytic converter. You will see the sensor where it screws into the pipe. The diffuculty is usually because they can be hard to reach.
All you have to do is buy a new sensor, get the proper sized wrench, disconnect the wires from the old sensor, unscrew the old sensor, screw the new one in and replace the wires.
Just be sure you DO NOT touch the end of the new sensor with your fingers.

First off you may not be able to buy that part at an auto parts store most cars dont have parts at the store until 5-7 years after the year model was made thats how dealers screw you when your warranty is up. So check your warranty call the dealer because depending on your year and warranty they might be able to do it for you other wise you gotta buy the part then figure out which bank and most likely the tire will have to come off on your car as well you have to have the right tools cold engine and about an hour to do it if its easily accessible. When i changed mine on my 96 explorer it took an hour or so and was a pain in the *** plus the part was like 60 dollars so check it out and find the best way to do it for u

Check with a dealer. My 2001 Taurus was covered under a recall. The one they put in was bad, so they had to replace it. I was just out the gas money. Computerized cars require a pro. Sorry.

Very. A cresent wrench, jack, and jackstands are all you need. Just disconnect the plug, unscrew it, put the new one in and reconnect the plug. Keep in mind, your car probably has two of them. One is in the downtube before the cat, and the other is after the cat.
