Washing the house & laundry. Bathing the owners children. Feeding the livestock.Planting the crops. Preparing the family meals and of course getting raped by the owner or other slaves.

And the serious answer is, it would depend on the plantation. In general, children didn't begin work in the fields, if they ever went there, until there were 12 years old, but that varied. Prior to that she most likely would have helped around the slave quarters themselves, or played, possibly with the children of the master. Sometimes children were assigned household chores around the plantation home.

Remember also that not all slave owners were White. In SC there were quite a few Black slave owners. The Cherokee owned plantations that rivaled any for a time.

Historical evidence proves that rape and molestation were not so common as most people believe. Slavery was bad enough without making anything up about it. As in all aspects of history, we learn nothing from it if we don't seek the truth of what actually happened.

Kitchen help. Possibly a maid to the master's children. Field hand.
