Like i would like to know the places i can visit that are a "Must See" type in Mahableshwar. Good Spots to visit in Mahableshwaer

I go to Mahabaleshwar every year twice. Once during the winters and once during the Wet monsoons. You have to go there during the monsoons to believe the beauty.

The best places are:

- Chota Kashmir (Tapola)
- A place around 1 km from mahabaleshwar on way to panchgani where u can find buttas, and strawberry milkshake, etc.

- Pratapgad
- There are many points as well. Check out "Mahabaleshwar" in google and you will get them.

There are several tourist points in the city of Mahabaleshware. Best way to see all of them is hire a taxi/cab in Mahabaleshwar or hire a guide. But Venna lake is the best spot. U can visit old Mahabaleshwar and have a look at ancient temples there.

Other spots are :
1. Pratapgad : is a half day outing from Mahabaleshwar. A good fort since King Shivaji's time. There's a Bhavani temple (beutiful idol) and statue. U can see the deep, deep valleys from this fort. While travelling from Mumbai to Mahabaleshwar via Mahad/Poladpur, u can find a diversion to this fort.
2. Wai: a town at the bottom of Panchgani (near Mahabaleshwar). A huge idol of Ganesh near the river is "must see". U can enjoy icecreams of various tastes ( home made) in Mastani Ice cream shop here. If u travel from Pune to Mahabaleshwar, u will reach Wai. Next on the route is Panchgani.
While proceeding to Panchgani enroute to Mahabaleshwar, visit "Silk Centre" run by Government at the start of the Pasarni ghats. U can see the entire process of silk production here. Purchase if u r fond of Saris.
3. Panchgani : another hill station near Mahabaleshwar. Table Top is a must see spot, a huge expanse of plain land on the top of the mountain. U can ride horses here.
