if you want them whilst the films showing if you ask nicely alot of cinemas will pencil in your name on the back and give them to you on the last day of showing. If you dont they'll take 'em outback and incinerate them.

Sometimes they get sent back to the distributor, other times they get sent to other theatres if there is a second-run theater that shows older movies run by the same chain. Sometimes they are just thrown away.
You can ask a manager nicely for one and you might be able to get it for free. It helps if you leave your address or go to the theatre near the end of the movie's run. Sometimes staff members take them. I used to towrk in a movie theatre and most of the time they were up for grabs for the staff if they didn't need to be sent back.

I know one they give it to people to sell, I bought ongbak poster that was original posted up when the film was out,

Well, I used to have friends working there and they would either take them home or give them away or trash them if the movie stank. I think it would be okay to ask for them, no harm.

Employees usually get dibs, if not then ask and they might hold it for you, otherwise the go in the trash.

The local Malco has like a Silent Auction...where you can bid for them at any time they're up.....when it comes down...highest bid wins...
