Being that auto assembly plants generally are not equipped to sell and/or deliver cars to the general public, are there any manufacturers that will let you buy a car and drive it right off of the assembly line?

No, you can not. Only because the manufacturer is not set up to see to the end customer. Volvo had a thing set up in Germany when I was there where you could purchase your Volvo from a local dealership and drive or fly to the factory and pick up your car because you would have the vehicle identification of your car at the time of purchase. I don't know of any where here in the US that would allow you to do that. I think if that could be done then people would stop going to car dealerships.

Not that I know of. There used to be a company called Daewoo that did something like that, but they went out of business. I think they were purchased by General Motors. Good question.
