i've been talking to this guy since last march.. we've had our ups and downs but we continue to talk.. we fight alot and i always end up the one hurt (he does hit me sometimes). i was talking to one of his friends about it and he tried to explain that he really loves me and all of his anger is out of jealousy and him being insecure .. i dont get it because he never treated any of his previous girlfriends like this nor did he abuse them.. what should i do ... leave him and stay because hes doing to show "how much he loves me"?

Run away as fast as you can!! To want to be with a man who will hit you is idiotic.

Don't stay with a man who hits you, for any reason.
If you can (and you really want to try to make things work), approach him about taking anger management classes, or couples counseling. If he refuses to consider either, leave as fast as you can.
