The human population of the earth is doubling every 35 years. Without population controls, everything else is a joke. So do us all a favor, and get a vasectomy.

Scientists say that we are causing global warming with all the fuel we are burning, that it is adding more carbon dioxide to the air. While this is certainly true, what they don't tell us is that all the carbon dioxide we put in the air is only about 3% of what is actually there. The other 97% is put there by natural causes, such as respiration and decomposition.
Also, the earth goes through cycles where it gets a little warmer and then gets a little cooler (like in the Ice Age). This has been happening since the beginning of time, and should not concern anyone.

On a personal level, cut down on everything. Walk instead of drive, buy food that doesn't require a ton of packaging, recycle, and research ways to cut down energy usage in your personal enviornment. On a more expanded level lobby your government to take more resposibility for the emissions they produce, and to seek ways they can energize their public into taking responsibility. It all comes down to taking action in your own enviornment and considering the global effect of actions we all take for granted.

If you want a more active approach or more wishful thinking i would advocate serious research into alternate energies, and i wish that every new building project was required to supply at least a portion of its energy usage through solar or wind or whatever.

Finally a very good battery. This may sound silly but the potential for alternative energies is great if there were a battery that could suitably contain it. Most peopel who attempt to use alternative energy end up using car batteries which do not store energy efficiently enough. If we came out with a perfect battery almost anything could be an energy source, walking, rivers, wind, etc.

Get population under control!!! People are causing the problem. And each year there are more people than the year before.

The ONLY way to have a significant impact on global warming is to have a decrease in human population!!!!

As Methane is second only to water vapour as a "greenhouse gas" - kill all grazing animals and don't eat food that make you windy.
The science of "global warming" can become very confusing. Many scientists have advocated planting trees to soak up carbon - but now others are pointing out that trees trap heat, and therefore add to the problem. A United NAtions study has concluded that burning off tropical forests contribute more C02 to the atmosphere than ALL forms of transport put together. It is difficult to make sense of such conflicting pronouncements. Over all it is hard not to notice how politicians are using "global warming" to introduce more rules and regulations - and far more taxes!

There are a bunch of answers to this question, but seriously it is a natural event that is normally leveled out by the trees. There has to be more trees to deal with the increase in CO2. Or there has to be a way to emit less while removing some of what has already been emmited. But the only logical answer it to plant more trees and emit less CO2.

1) Get the electric car back on the road!
2) Switch to solar and nuclear power.
3) Build machines to remove CO2 from the air.

We need to decrease the use of fossil fuels by limiting waste and by using alternative fuels. Nuclear energy is a good alternative but it has its own drawbacks. Wind, solar, and hydroelectric are also good resources of clean energy. The Earth is resilient but we still need to concern ourselves over this issue without presuming too much.

if everybody would me more considerate and not litter, and stop cutting down the rain forests, and maybe even plant there own tree's and use dishes instead of paper plates and what not that would help slow down the process
