I had both my sonograms at around 20 weeks and both my boys were VERY proud to show there manhood! :-) My Drs told me that the best time is between 18 & 22 weeks. If you go too far before that the sexual organs have not completely developed and boys and girls still look the same. After that point the baby is usually to curled up to get a clear picture.

Usually around 16-20 weeks, but remember an amnio is the only sure fire way to know. A baby has to cooperate during the ultrasound and be willing to show the appropriate parts. Some women don't know the sex until delivery because the baby just wasn't cooperative.

Usually around 12 weeks. You will have an ultrasound at that point. I have had three children and I have some advice for you. When I became pregnant, I immediately went off of all caffine. On the day of the ultrasound, on the way there, I would eat a snickers bar and drink a mountain dew. This would get the baby moving around and we were able to tell the sex. If the baby is sleeping, or just not very active, he/she may be in a position that will make it impossible to tell. However, if you get them motivated, you'll have a lot more luck. Do not eat and drink too early or it will wear off. Do it on the way there. Good luck...

16-20 weeks is the ideal time. But I had an ultrasound scheduled for when i was 17 weeks and they made me reshedule bc they said that they would not be able to see the organ as weel as if I was between 20-22 weeks. And also it is more clear to tell the sex between 20-22 weeks. But it all depends on the dr you go to and when they want the ultrasound because I know several people who found out at 16 weeks with no problem.

Technically you can find out as soon as you can get an amniocentesis but this is only need if your child could be at risk for down syndrome or other medical problems. Usually they do an ultrasound at around 20 weeks but babies don't always behave for the camera when you get your ultra sound done. My best friend didn't know with her last one up until she was 8 months along, cause her lil girl was being modest...

I am 17 weeks almost 18 and my doctor told me that when I come in for my next check up (I will be a little over 20 weeks) we can do the ultrasound to check then. Most places like to wait until you're between 20 and 24 weeks

Usually at the routine 20-week ultrasound, depending on your doctor. But on a higher quality machine you can tell much earlier, like 14 weeks. Anything earlier than that and usually the sex organs aren't fully formed yet so they wouldn't be visible. I found out earlier with my first because I needed to go to the ER, and they had a much higher resolution machine that could tell me sooner than my doctor's office would.
