you would have to clear it with your obgyn first--if he gives you the ok, then you can call the dermatologist.

definately talk to your obgyn first--even if you can just speak to a nurse in the office -she'll be able to tell you.

It depends. In general, some OB-GYNs or GPs will prescribe it, but most prefer you to see the dermatolgist. Reason being - things like this have to be monitored to get the correct dose and keep from damaging your liver. Since you're pregnant, they may not want you to have it at all until after you deliver. Ask your OB-GYN, the worst they can tell you is wait till after the baby's born.

Whatever you start taking should be cleared w/ your ob gyn before you start taking it anyway, so why not just go ask him/her before you see your dermatologist. Likelyhood is the derm. would have to prescribe that type of med anyway, but at least you have ob/gyn's ok first instead of wasting time.

Clear it with your OB first to make sure it's safe, then check with the dermatologist to see if it will be effective during pregnancy.

You do not want to take any acne medication while you are pregnant....NONE!! They can cause birth defects...would you rather have acne or a child with something wrong. I suffer from very bad acne, and when i got pregnant with my last child, I bought Clinique Cream Foaming Face wash...it's like $17...I have not had to take anything since then, and have not had any problems with my face. It would be worth trying!!

your ob/gyn would be the one or at least you need to clear it with them first....my advice (i'm a mother and a nurse) is to just deal with the acne until the baby is born. i know it's not fun, but you're running the risk of harming your baby just for vanity sake.

my ob/gyn writes all my scripts I need , he says as long as I am pregnant he is my doctor , and I should not to see someone else for stuff he can diagnose and treat. so i would ask him nicely to write the script.

Do not take anything unless your OB/GYN says its ok. Your babies health is more important than your skin

ask your OB, only because a dermamtologist might prescribe you something your OB doesnt want you to take. call your OB and ask what you should do.

I think you will have to go the the dermatologist. Acne medicine is outside of his range.
