You could try contacting the Salvation Army in Australia. They helped find my brother-in-law in Australia who we had lost contact with.

Womans weekly do free online adds, and also one in their magazine
Put an add in the local newspaper over their, or try the local radio.
Look up the aussie phone book.

Try sending a letter to the next door neighbour expressing your
concern.May be your relation will then contact you even if it is to tick you off.Good Luck
