A joke. The other delusional possible candidate is George Pataki- the former Governor of NY, who left his party in shambles during his 12 year tenure. Dodd's betrayal of Joe Lieberman was appalling. Fortunately Senator Joe had the last laugh.

He's an idealist...just a guy running to put Democratic values in the debate. Winning candidates have to appeal to everyone, and its the token lefties like Dodd who make the front-runners look like centrists. Republicans do the same thing, but for 2008 their token righties seem to believe they actually have a chance.

Possibly more than one reason: Truly thinks he would be the right man for the job, positioning himself in case a front-runner doesn't appear before the convention, putting his name out there for consideration as a vice-presidential nominee once a front-runner for the presidency is established, inflated ego, or delusional. My opinion: ego and delusional!!
