I would strongly recomend that you take interstate 10 West. Transition to interstate 17 North. The final leg will be interstate 40 East.

Yes you will spend most of your driving time in Arizona. However these are all interstate roads so you will be able to average 75 mph. Going through Coconino Forest and Flagstaff Az. should not be bad at all. Just check the weather for snow & travel that part in the middle of the day.
