strange as it may seem conspiracy in many cases Carry's more time than doing the actual crime, and it is so easy for the prosecution to prove conspiracy, for example you and a friend can jokingly kid about robbing a bank, one of them makes a phone call , or leaves the room it can be is often depicted as furthering the act, therefore both are convicted of robbing a bank ,
a jury many times thinks the sentence will be minor , not knowing the penalty is the same in both scenarios, and there are many such stupid laws , another reason why our prisons are so over crowded, plus the fact our country has a 98,8 % conviction Ratio , higher than any nation on earth , we also have more people in prison than any nation on earth including China, and North Korea, and this is a free country ???? no other country even comes close to that high a convicton Ratio other than Russia who has a 92 % conviction Ratio

It depends the degree. Are you conspiring against a class mate or the country. If its the country, then it should be the highest crime.

Conspiracy is a crime, but it has to be proven. I don't think Bush has committed conspiracy. That is the opinion of some low-brow, knuckle-dragging liberal Demoncrat Brown Shirts who can't think beyond their irrational hatred of Bush.

conspiracy in and of itself is not a crime unless the conspiracy is in furtherance of a criminal act...as to how serious it is, it's usually a felony
