Not just for two people. I might do it for a dinner party. Sort of like catering. But to get a meal from say a $12 plate place, then add $8 for the delivery, that would be a 33% markup. It wouldn't be worth it for me.
I'll bet if you built some clientele, it would be fine for people with more disposable income.

Takeout Taxi delivers from restaurants for a flat $5., no matter how much you order. A tip is expected, and 15% is added to orders over $50. If you need something from more than one restaurant, there is an extra fee of $2.50 for each other restaurant.
I've been using them a lot while we're fixing up after Kartrina, since I still have no stove or oven.

If your area does not have this service currently, go for it, if that's your intention! People are tired, can't find a sitter, just crave a particular food from a particular place. Just make sure you have a strong network with the restaurants in your area so there aren't any difficulties-- have a list of the restaurants you have contacted and are able to deliver from for your potential customers.

I possibly would. Depends on how hungry I am for that meal and if I really had the extra money to have it delivered to my lazy ***. (= More than likely if I really want something I usually just go get it. But if I was really sick or something, I would use a service like that.

Yes! We have such a service here in the bay area. It's a god-send when we don't want to cook. Our delivery charge is only $5 and we always tip well.

Yes, but I would charge by the mileage. That way people that would not pay $8, might pay $4 for a restaurant that is nearby.

In St. Louis, many restaurants participate in what's called "Dining Express". You place your order with them, and they usually fax the restaurant with the order. They pick it up, and deliver it to you. I'm not sure what they charge for the service, though.

absolutely...but make sure if you do this to specify a mileage otherwise you'll have ppl having you deliver 50 miles away. you could say within a 30 mile radius of the restaurant and anything over charge per mile

Yes, and have used a service like that in Pittsburgh. It's a good idea that ppl will use, but not original.
