One easy way is with PSP Video 9, which you can find with any search engine, and download for free. It doesn't work with all videos.

If your firmware is 2.8 or higher, some MP4 videos can be used by putting them in the VIDEO folder. The only way to know which ones is to try them. If there is no VIDEO folder, create one. Do *not* put it inside the PSP folder.

There are some free legal video downloads here:

http://psp.connect.com/
The downloads include instructions for transferring them to your PSP.
For more information see

Look for MPEG1 or MPEG2 files to download, then use PSP Video 9 to convert them and transfer them to your PSP.

get a free program called pspvideo9
it can convert any video file to the psp mp4 format and also it transfers the video over to the psp in the correct location.

you will be stuck without it as the folder and the video have to have specific names so the psp can play them back.

your videos need to be in MP4 format. Then you need a folder under MP_ROOT on your memory card called 100MNV01, which is where the videos go. Check out http://ezinearticles.com/?How-To-Put-Videos-On-PSP&id=243594 if you need additional info
