If you are talking about the UC system and not the CSU System you are between two.
The UC Irivine and UCLA. Both are about 30 miles(give or take a couple) from Long Beach.
If you are talking about the CSU System then you have Cal State Long Beach right there.

California State University at Long Beach...which happens to be my Alma mater. I loved the school. Not just the campus (which has some great on-campus food), but the professors are great. They care about their students. There is also a lot of diversity which makes it interesting. If you would like more info go to the website: www.csulb.edu.

But, if you want one in the UC system, then you will have to go to UC Irvine.
