I am considering laser eye surgery in april..i am 23 years old and was looking for people's stories, suggestions, tips, etc. I have booked 3 consultations with 3 different offices to see which one is best. Is it possible to get a bladeless procedure done?

I had this done several years ago. Might have been 10 or so, so I'm not up on the latest info.

In a nutshell, I recall reading that if your pupils are large, you are not a candidate. If your eyes tend to be dry, it's a bad idea. So be sure to ask for a dry eye test. Blindness is not something you need to worry about. I and one other person I talked to both noticed a decrease in our close vision. Not bad enough that I need reading glasses yet, but noticeable.

I highly recommend doing as much research as possible ahead of time. The doctor I went to had a web page with a link to questions you should ask your doctor. Unfortunately I no longer have it, but perhaps you could search for that phrase and come up with something.

One other thing - you get what you pay for. So just keep that in mind.

I say Do It! Of all the people I know who have had LASIK done, I have never heard one complaint. My uncle is an Optometrist, and he got it done with great results.

I don't think there is a bladeless procedure, but you don't feel the cut anyway.

Good luck!!

Lasik and Laser eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and lasik surgery in India by a company called Forerunners Healthcare. The Price for dental and lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
