he's very uncomfortable, I have an eight month old going throught the EXACT same thing. He's throwing his head, bc his head, or mouth, is what is hurting him. The doctor told me to give my daughter MOTRIN, not tylenol, motrin. Motrin is supposed to have something extra in it that helps with teething pains. After I gave my daughter the motrin, she went back to normal, slept longer, and was happier. Try it and trust me...it really makes all the difference. Good luck with your son.

mine didn't cry when she was teething. Mine ran fevers when she was teething. I don't remember any crankiness at that teething age. Mine also didn't go through the terrible twos, or bother the gifts under the christmas tree. (However she bothers the gifts under that tree now, and she whines and complains alot when things don't go her way. So I guess she made up for those two times in the past where she didn't complain.) Probably throwing head back is pain. Give baby tylenol (ask doctor first) but that's what I did for mine, just in case there was some pain.

Some infants express their pain or anger that way. We have a baby at the daycare i work at that will throw his head down on the floor and slide around the room hitting his head. This shouldn't be a big concern, he won't do it hard enough to hurt himself.

Thats a reaction to the pain.he's also frustrated because it hurts.Watch your mouth and nose or he'll head-butt you and that hurts!Give him Motrin or Tylenol.A piece of ice or frozen dish rag to gnaw on will help.

It is normal. Technically they are trying to take the focus of the teething pain away. It freaked me out when my son did it, but I was reassured it was normal.
