We have been abused for too long. Yahoo! keeps saying they're working on a way to get rid of trolls, but they just seem to be escelating their violent threats and harassment.
If you see any threaths of violence, abuse, murder or asking what is the best way to kill others...would you please copy these threats and email them to me?
I'm trying to compile a full list of threatening posts by abusive users to forward to the FBI's department of Internet Abuse/Harassment.
Hate, abuse, threats of violence, death threats, lies about our community....etc...should not be tolerated whatsoever. Yahoo! has fallen very far short of protecting this site and it's users from these threats. I believe it's time we brought in the big guns!

Y'know, if you can get in touch with them, another point to bring both pressure and scrutiny down on this subject would be to talk with other forms of media. I think loud, uncomfortable questions coming from the Advocate and Planet Out, not to mention GLAAD and the HRC, might also get a positive response.
Free Speech doesn't cover Harassment, Death Threats, or anything of the sort. It's too bad many don't know enough about the Laws of their own country to know that.

I hope they see this and realize it's time to step it up.
I hope they don't get rid of the section altogether. It may seem like an easy solution, but look how many very serious questions there are from people who need help and understanding, especially young people. Some wonderful people have left because of the hate. The haters should be punished, not us.

The problem is that the moment it's a six year old posting about the fact they're six it gets removed (and rightly so) but when it's idiots posting hate at our community, yahoo let it stand for hours (or even days!).
That's frankly unacceptable.

Playing Devil's advocate being my knack, I have to comment that I'd rather they unload here than in real life. Most of these posters are scared silly in real life and hiding behind an avatar and a screen name is the only way they can vent. They're harmless here, just annoying, and I'd just as soon keep them that way.
Don't forget the law of unforeseen consequences. Cutting off their means of expression doesn't cut off their rage. I'd rather they let it out with a keyboard than a baseball bat.
And since most of them are gay, too, and just afraid, we owe them a certain amount of pity.
But yeah, Yahoo's software has to do a much better job of detecting clearly abusive slurs and epithets when this stuff is posted and not rely on us to keep reporting it. And these birds have to be using the same email address when they keep re-registering, so Yahoo has to be able to know it's the same person they just shut down five minutes ago.
Meanwhile, keep hitting the abuse button.
