They constantly parrot the party line, whatever it is at the time. How do they keep up with the changes? Do all registered Republicans get their instructions directly from the RNC?

Actually, I'm a registered Independent. I'm required to think for myself if I plan to vote intelligently.

Sorry, I've only been posting on this forum two weeks and wasn't aware this question had been asked before. And I'm not on 24/7. Lighten up folks, you'll live longer.

Some do think for themselves. Look at the thorn in the side J. McCain. The same could be ask about the Dems but they too have a turncoat in Zell Miller. I think you may see the problem with politics, it is a good boy network. We the voters are the only ones who can fix this problem. Stop blaming the politicians and get the voters to do their jobs (elect someone who will vote their conscience and not the party line).

You could say that about all politicians. If you think that the Democrats are any better then you need to take blue (as in blue state) tinted glasses and see the world for what it is.
I am predominantly conservative, and I realize that even the guys I vote for a usually full of crap. A politicians job is to get elected or re-elected, and most of them will say and do anything to win that prize.
The few honest politicians who try to speak their own mind get ostracized and betrayed by the rest of them. Look what happened to Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller. Their own party (the Democrats) turned their back on them because they stood up for what they believed and did not back down when the party told them to.
Politics is a dirty game. Both sides play fast and loose.

I get my knowledge from the 3 newspapers I read per day, the radio, news sources on the internet, and books I read. The amount of trolling with questions of this, and lesser caliber, by either children, or extreme leftys far outweigh anything posted by conservatives.

Yes we do.
I am not in favor of the Republicans stance right now on immigration. I want them all sent home. ILLEGAL immigrants should get NO rights or money from our government.
But - since I am a member of the Republican party (and I get Christmas cards from GWB - honest - mailed from Crawford TX) my views and ideology closely matches their platform 95% of the time.

What's funny is that this is such a common question here at Y!A.
Who is doing the parroting? I think Michael Moore said the same thing.
Generalisations are the enemy of discourse.

Look at the questions posted by liberals, and you will see that none of you think for yourselves. You ask the same tired questions, and repeat the same trashy slurs against President Bush. Maybe you should come up with an original question. We do think for ourselves, it's just that most of the liberal questions and comments are irrelevant and redundant.

Perhaps you need to look in the mirror. I've joined several liberal message boards and mailing lists just for fun. I've received requests to send letters to my local paper on a subject, and they include sentences and entire paragraphs to use.
I've never gotten such a request from any of my conservative mailings.

Republicans tend to state facts. Therefore they will be repetitive. Others use insults and slander to get their point across....for example "Is Bush a monkey". Pretty pathetic.

Since we don't agree with you, that means we're incapable of thinking for ourselves? This is a PERFECT example of why I'm against liberals.
And, for the record, I'm a Libertarian who votes Republican because I'm sick of being told what to drive, where to smoke (I don't smoke, but that's not the point), don't say this...don't do that.....Hell, they're even trying to ban trans-fats - now they're telling us what to eat?!?
