I would assume 18 (like any surgery), or under 18 with parental consent, though most doctors would have a hard time not trying to talk you out of it. I think most docs would be reluctant.

Well first of all do you currently have children? If not I think they frown a little more on getting your tubes tied because regardless of how you fell now, you may want children later in life. Having a tubal also may bring problems with your menstrual cycle.
I had my tubes tied when my second child was 11 years old, I thought that I was completely set on not having anymore children, and I was, but after having it done I went through some serious depression just b/c of the thought I could NOT have any more.
You can get a reversal but they are expensive, insurance will not pay for it and there is no guarantee.
Before you get a tubal please ask your family that has had one if they have had any bad symptoms after this procedure. If they have, you probably will too.
I wish you the best of luck on journey.

I would think that 18 would be the minimum age. the problem is finding a Dr. that will do it. many do not like to perform that operation on women under 30.

my gf wanted to get her tubes tied at 22 after her 2nd child but the Dr. wouldn't do it, said she was too young and might want more children in the future. that was here in Vegas.

Doctors are pretty sexist in this respect. They think women are unable to make this decision so they try and discourage you, and don't like to do tubal ligations on people under the age of 30, especially if you have no children, but they will if you persist, or, just change doctors. I was able to get mine at age 24. (lthough the doctor told me that I was wrong and I really didn't want one, I just "thought" I did??),

Usually the doctors wont do it unless you are a certain age or unless you've had 2 or more kids. Usually the age is around 25, but it can depend from provider to provider.

Most doctors won't do it until you are 30 for some reason they think this is the magic age when you know what you want. If you are persistent with them they will eventually give in, but they always say that you don't really want one and need to wait.
