1. Yes, it is possible, and it does happen. However expulsions are kept fairly quiet, because they embarrass the party. The same thing happens when the Conservatives expel racists - it's an embarrassment to publicly admit that these people had been accepted as members.

2. Schisms can take place too. However, the far right usually splits over personalities, it is the far left that tends to split over ideology. Here's an excellent example of personality clash. In this article, the late John Tyndall, a far right activist since the early 1960s, criticises the current leader BNP Nick Griffin.
