The Xbox 360 currently does not support HDMI. The next version of Xbox 360 will. Right now, the best connection you can connect to your HDTV is component or VGA.
If your TV has a VGA connection, then go for the Xbox 360 VGA cable. If not, then you can go with component. You can get these cables from any store that sells Xbox 360 and accessories. Circuit City, Best Buy, CompUSA.

The second gentleman that answered your question is correct. If you got one of the higher-end packages, you should already have the cable that you will need. I hooked up the ends made for an HDTV and it worked great. You may also want to note that there may be a switch on the cable itself, right where it plugs into the Xbox. It has an HD setting and a VGA setting, make sure to set that to HD as well!

HDMI is an intelligent connection standard :it senses the resolution at which your television can run etc. Those features will not work without a HDMI output which the XBOX does not have. So despite what anyone tells you, you will not get true HD from an XBOX.

in case you television isn't HD then you do not have any favor for an HDMI cable. in case you've already got the overall element cable that has pink/eco-friendly/blue you should use that for HD also. yet when the television should not be HD then plugging in a HD signal received't make it look any better.

if you had the premium one and not the core one you will have a wire with 6 wires coming off it the red and blue and green go in to your xbox 360 and the yellow and red and white one go in a normal t.v p.s there are two red ones so the one with all red over it that is the red for your hd t.v
