I have slightly spotty skin, with a few scars which I would love to conceal with foundationg. At the moment I use Rimmel Recover foundation, but it wears off within an hour and doesn't properly conceal my skin. I need a product that will last the whole day, conceal my spots AND it needs to be avaliable in Boots or superdrug. Thankyooou so much!!

Umm if you want to have a perfect matte finish all day long, you'll have to go expensive, something like Clinique.. Or you could use foundation powder and then concealer over the top, this doesnt clog your pores up as much either but still works great.

Also, over the top of your foundation, you should always wear a light powder, as this helps give you that perfect finish and your foundation stays intact all day.

I use No7 foundation, it's really good and stays perfect all day, it's really difficult to rub off. My Mum uses Max Factor which is good too.. Don't use a cheap one like Natural Colllection as they don't really do a lot.

And also remember, don't use loads of you'll get even more spots in the end so just put one layer on and then a bit of powder and concealer, if they still show a bit, don't pile the concealer on because it just makes them more obvious, and people probably don't notice them anyway 'cause everyone has a few spots now and then..

But the best way to cover spots [or not] is to combat them. Cleanse and moisturise REALLY well everyday (especially after the use of any make-up etc) and I use Quinoderm Cream which is the only product containing Benzoyl Peroxide (a good chemical for zapping the spots) available over the counter. You can get it from most Boots stores. Also dermalogica does an acne treatment set which works well too...

Good luck!
Lorna

if you need a drug store brand i have a few suggestions:

true the l'oreal line as it has great coverage but you need to set it with a powder. use liquid foundation, then apply the concealer when you need it and then powder it. the pwdering will help keep it on.

the other solution is to find a skin primer. i know covergirl makes a foundation and skin primer set. the skin primer is like spackle for the face. it helps give you a smooth surface to work with and it keeps the make up from sliding off.

having said that, being a teenager, i know you are on a limited budget. however, it is worth paying a little more for a better product. not only are they better formulated, you can get testers to take home and try which one works best on you, it is a waste of money to buy stuff that does not work. mac is very reasonable and works super well and lasts a long time. it only costs a little more than the drug store stuff and is so worth it. invest in just the base skin products. blush, eyeshadow, mascara can be bought at the drugstore. maybelline makes the best mascara, rimmel has great colours and l'oreal has great products. just know where to put your money best.

Hi There
I'm 20 and i have always suffered with spotty scared skin. I used to use loreal maybelline etc. concealers and foundations but they were all rubbish as they would wear off in over an hour.
Honestly the best foundation is by MAC - the one i would reccomend is studio fx as it is oil free - which is best for oily, spotty skin. I don't even need to use concealer with this foundation as it covers my whole face perfectly ;)
Unfortunately i dont believe you can buy MAC at boots or superdrug. MAC is used by many celebrities and it's not that expensive. You can order it from their online shop www.maccosmetics.co.uk -- they deliver very fast too.
You can also buy it from ebay but it can be hard to find the right colour for your skin, so best to get from the MAC website.
Another tip is to NOT moisturise before applying foundation. Many will disagree with me but i have always moisturised before foundation for years but i decided to see what it would be like if i didnt use moisturiser and WAHEY!!, my foundation stayed on alllll day long -- i was so pleased. Remember if you have oily skin you don't want to be adding moisturiser to it anyway - there's no point. I do hope this helps - if not, sorry for boring you lol xxxx good luck xx

If you have spotty skin, like me, then using foundation makes it worse (for me anyway). So I just use a concealer stick, No7 do a really good one!

Also foundation traps dirt under the skin! So maybe you want to try and get rid of the spots and get a clear completion (email me, I know loads of ways) It might be the better option in the long run.

Hope it helps. Email me if you don't know, because I do have the same problem!

am kinda exactly the same as you..(spottyishh skin..need a good foundation..get most make-up 4rm boots or superdrug, teenager etc lol)

and i use "rimmel cool matte 16 hour mousse"
trust me i use it nearly every day 2 skl and it lasts all day, and after you put it on it has this "cooling effect" what makes your skin feel gooodd lol and it covers up your spots/blackheads etc

..normal liquid foundation like my mums estee lauder one just makes my skin go dry and leaves stuff on my face

but this blends in perfectly and it doesnt even look like youve got foundation on so you dont have 2 worry bout lookin like a cake!!

trust me..go 2 boots or superdrug n try it and if it feels good buy it..cos its perfect 4 me n lots of other girls in my year use it aswell

..it comes in 7 different shades..i use 200 - soft beige:

* 100 Ivory
* 200 Soft Beige
* 201 Classic Beige
* 301 Warm Honey
* 303 True Nude
* 400 Natural Beige
* 402 Bronze

hope that helps...

Try a mousse, like maybelline. It goes on really easy, covers well and last the whole day. Just to make sure top it off with some clear powder and you should be all set for the day. Also a primer underneath foundations is meant to make them stay on longer.

I use Revlon Soft Flex for Combination to Oily Skin and it is amazing, it stays on and it doesnt look cakey, or spotty.

Sometimes your make up looks spotty because you are not putting it on right. I have a lot of make up tips, so if you want to ask me anything email me at lmorales@rainbowcdc.com

Look for Neutrogena Skin Clearing Foundation. It covers, lasts, and helps to heal your skin while you wear it.

Well I was going to suggest Estee Lauder -- thy have an stay put formula that really does.
However, they don't sell it at Boots or superdrug.
Might try Bare Escentuals also.
