I agree with pooshna66, even getting rid of the one cent coin would be a wind fall to big business. think of it if lets just say walmart, rounded everything off to the highest 0, like .77 to .80 they would make millions.

gator girl must just be reading the same question over and over. I have answered a lot of of interesting coin questions, sure some are the same, but there are a lot of different ones. The fun is the world coin questions. Sorry got off on a tangent there. As for coins, they are used more than the credit card companies want to admit. This country still has a lot of small businesses and we all do not live in the big cities. My town doesn't even have a bank and we buy from the local stores when we need to. The price of gas here is the same as the bigger cities near me. During the summer and you want to go fishing, the guy with the good bait does not take credit cards, debit cards or checks. Want a better deal on that coin or antique, offer cash. So either way we need coins and we need the coin questions to continue. It is fun to help some one and I learn as well.

i need some clarification? you mean git rid of coins from our currency system? if that's the question then no, they're very important to our economy.
