If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.

The best thing I would do is check if there is a virus with Norton. If not I would just do a fresh/clean install of Windows. I would back up all my important data and make sure you have a copy of the programs that is on your pc right now and use the either the pc recovery disk that came with your pc or a Windows XP disc, format the drive, and install windows.

The two preceding answers are correct. But you also need to scan for adware, spyware, rogue toolbars and other web induced ilk.

Lavasoft's Ad-Aware or SpyBot Search & Destroy are excellent products to erradicate these things.

Also when burning make sure you don't let an animated screen saver preoccupy your computer. Either delay it or shut that feature off, same for any other power saving feature that might kick in too soon.

try a disc defrag. its in system tools under accessories in the start menu. After doing a defrag, do a disc clean up. start-programs-accessories-system tools- disc clean up. try doing a restore point if u can. its always good to backup your hard drive for instances like this.
