Sadly, a lot of the relationships that I see nowadays is controlled by the woman. Even when the guy is doing something macho or controlling, it is a response to an initiative by the woman. It's ironic that girls are taught the anachronistic notion of being subservient to men, but at the same time come to control the very men who are supposed to dominate them.
My theory though (and it has panned out true over the course of years of relationships) is that a woman's reliance on a man is subconscious. A man can never win verbally, but if he knows how, he can win physically (body language). If you are familiar with a girl's cues and her insecurities, it is easy to control her emotions. In a sense it is like the dog gently pulling on the leash, guiding the master where he wants to go. The master is holding the leash, right? She decides where to go, right? But if the dog is guiding her, who is in control? It is all very convoluded.

Both. IT just depends on the person. Some men are total wimps and can't take anything at all, and some woman are very overpowering. It balances itself out.

Majority of the time we just make you think that you are in control when in fact it is us, the women, who actually have control.
BUT, in a healthy relationship it is definitely 50/50.

Just remeber that the happiest relationship is where one person is in control but makes the other person think that they are - it does not matter which way round this is.

I'm not a man, but my guess is, if a woman knows how to treat her man, and he's happy at home, she's the one in control.
