Yes, there are a few here in California. The charge varies and is sometimes included in the food price. Typically it's from 6.95 to 9.95.
Participating restaurants sign up with the service to extended thier customer base. It can be a great benifet as long as the surrounding area caters to that type of need.

Several here in St. Louis. Food is always late and cold but you can order from almost any restaurant in the neighborhood. Usually the surcharge is about 4 or 5 bucks per order. These services have menus from all the restaurants close by even the fast food places.

Yes, there is a service - here, in London (not sure where you are) that has a list of restaurants (mostly pretty costly ones) and will deliver the food to your home. I have never used it, I only know as they post ads in my mailbox. I think it is called Room service (?) - and on top of the price of the food, they charge a pretty hefty delivery fee - based on your location

I have. They do deliver for a variety of restaurants. If you look up on the computer under www.foodtoyou.com i will tell you if they deliver in your city. But if they on't there might be another company that does. It will cost anywhere between $5-$15. There is $25 minimum food order also.

In NJ, there's a service called Go-For-It (something to that effect) and it has zone areas for the specific restaurants. There are service charges: $3.00 for one restaurant; $1.00 extra if you go to another restaurant in the same zone; might be more if you want food from a restaurant that is not in your zone. You might want to look at the local papers or the Penny Saver for ads.

Yep. They're really popular around college campuses. My friend managed one in Chapel Hill and Raleigh. I've seen delivery fees that range from two to four dollars. You're expected to tip the driver too.

well, we've thought about it but never heard of one that does that. I don't believe they could charge much more than a percentage of the order. I guess supply would set your price for you. The more people who respond, the more you could probably charge if the market is that strong.
