The monomials are just the two expressions you have, because they are just a single term raised to a power(mono means one). (3x^3)^2 is a monomial
To sum them, add them together.
To find the product, multiply them together.
When you have something raised to an exponent, raise the coefficient to the power, and the variable is found by multiplying the two exponents.
(3x^3)^2 = (3)(3)x^6 = 9x^6
(2x^2)^3 = (2)(2)(2)x^6
So 9x^6 + 8x^6 is equal to
17x^6
To multiply them it is
(9x^6)(8x^6)
That is like (9)(8)(x^6)(x^6)
When you multiply variables with the same base, you add the exponents.
So the answet is 72x^12

So in the first case you would need to find the sum and in the latter their product? If that's the case:
a) (3x^3)^2 + (2x^2)^3 = 9x^6 + 8x^6 = 17x^6
b) (3x^3)^2 * (2x^2)^3 = 9x^6 * 8x^6 = 72x^12
Hope it helps...

a. Find the sum >>>
First: raise each term according to the exponent...when you have one variable (i.e "x") with an exponent raised to some number, you multiply the exponents....
(3^2x^3*2) + (2^3x^2*3)
9x^6 + 8x^6
Sec: add the coefficients...
17x^6
b. Find the product >>>
First: when you multiply variables with exponents, you add the exponents when you have the same base (i.e. "x")
(9x^6)(8x^6)
72x^12

b) The product
(3x^3)^2 x (2x^2)^3 = (9x^6) x (8x^6) = 72x^12
Right!?!?

that funny symbol means to put the number our front- its in 1/2 backwards order. (3x3) is (9) times 2 equals 18 and then (2x2) is(4) times 3 is 12, then put the two sums together equals 30- the comma(,) separates the two equaltions so as not to put the two sides together, a tendency in math. Good luck

a monomial is simply a combination of contants and variables all multiplied together
4x, 8x², 7xy²z/9ab
Any of those
All they want you to do is add and multiply the two expressions.
A binomial is two of those kind of expressions added together:
a + 2x²
A trinomail is three of them added together
3x + 4y² - 4
And a polynomial is three or more of them added together.
