can anyone confirm what happens to the beta versions of vista when the testing period is over
i have heard that they become locked and unusable, which i think is a bit nasty of microsoft considering you have tested vista for them for a year
and even if they let you continue to use it,you will probally buy a full release anyway as the beta(build 5600) is apparently only 95% complete and i dont want a operating system unfinished forever
i just think it would be a goodwill gesture to let us keep it until we can get a loan to buy the full version of vista ultimate...ha,ha..
cheers

I put in it on my acquaintances pc (because my pc would not take care of it) and were given bored with it after an hour. It jogs my memory countless Mac OS X. Vista and OS X both have an instantaneous search for, both now have "widgets", and it type of feels Vista is attempting to replica OS X's interface. the purely element i love changed into how they blended homestead windows Media version center in with Vista... it really is about the purely element efficient with the time-honored public desirous to apply their pc as leisure center. the element i spotted (and is going to make human beings mad) is attempting to apply (what changed into once Outlook exhibit) homestead windows Mail on Vista. everybody who would not understand what they are doing and attempting to be certain the POP3 and all that suggestions to get their e-mails, will likely not use that software. I own/run XP, yet I really have messed round with a Mac at my acquaintances paintings, so that's why i understand of Mac OS X. i will keep on with XP till i'm getting a sparkling laptop pc contained in the destiny and they fix each and each and every of the kinks out of Vista (about a 12 months after it is launch)

last I checked the beta _was_ over. MS has probably taken measures to prevent running the beta after a certain grace period.

Why would you want to run unstable/incomplete software anyway?
(and on that note, why would you want to run Vista before SP1 arrives?)

From the horse's mouth:
Windows Vista RC1 is time-limited, pre-release software that will expire on June 1, 2007.

They stop working when they expire. I bet if you search the internet you'll find someone's got a patch.
