who is the most abuse coach in the NBA or NCAA??

I think that Bobby Knight should take this one. He used to coach the U. of Indiana and now, coaches Texas Tech University. Both teams are in the NCAA. He screams at his players, throws chairs, argues with refs and probably even hits his players. I still like him though. He is a funny guy. I would like to see what kind of coach he would be in the NBA. That would be real interesting.

Hey Adam, he (John Cheney) did not send him in with the intent to hurt him. He sent him in to deliver a hard foul. The injury was a result, not an intent. You should probably take a second look at the officials in that game anyway. Generally, when things get out of hand like that, it usually, not always, but usually starts with sorry officiating. If a player gets freethrows for that clothesline or (in the Cheney/Temple case) elbow he took, he won't feel the need to take justice into his own hands. Jack Tatum always tried to punish receivers for going across the middle. But it was probably not his intent to paralyze Darryl Stingly! And outside of that one incident and the time when he threatened to kick John Calipari's @%* (that was funny), you really don't have anything else on him.

Bob Knight on the other hand, has kicked (and it being his son does not make it any less offensive), choked and punched players (a kids head does'nt jerk like that unless he takes a solid shot).

He has thrown chairs, cursed out the media on several occassions, allegedly assaulted police officers, told Connie Chung regarding the subject of rape that "...if rape is inevitable, relax and enjoy it", threw a potted plant at a secretary in the athletic department at IU, punched another IU employee and went after a student in a game against Baylor and the list goes on and on.

Who's the most abusive? John Cheney? Sorry I am not buying it and don't try to sell it. Look at the altercations in the NBA. The brawl in Detrot and the one in New York last month. Think about it; HOW THE HELL CAN WE HOLD PLAYERS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS AND COACHES DON'T HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIERS !!!! Okay he graduates players and runs a clean program. So did Mike Shula, but he got canned and the only thing he was guilty of is going .500. I cannot beleive Knight has a job. As great as he is (outstanding basketball strategist), he is a liability becuase of his poor judgment in how he conducts himself. He is too much of a legal risk and one day his luck is going to run out. He's going to put his hands on the wrong kid.

Comparing Cheney's behavioral miscues to Knight's is like the BCS National Championship game................it ain't even close!

There was that guy from Temple Cheney who sent his player in with the specific intent of fouling a guy hard enough to hurt him

Also, Isiah Thomas, the Knicks coach is beleived to have instructed his players to fould hard the next time anybody went in the lane, causing the fight between the nuggets and Knicks

And of course ppl are going to say Bob Knight because he throws things on the court and such, but 90% of the kids who have played for him stick up for him and say they like him, you just only hear about the 10% that doesnt because the media loves to report scandals
