Well, I suppose Eragon and Eldest ( from the Inheritance trilogy) are a little like Harry Potter. They do magic and stuff. On the other hand it has like dragons and swords and stuff (written by Christopher Paolini if you want to check it out). I don't think there are really any books that so closely related to Harry Potter. There aren't many books that have wizards and wands and stuff. However, I know of a trilogy where one of the main characters is a magician, not like wands and stuff, though. It's called the Bartimaeus Trilogy. #1: The Amulet of Smarkand, #2: The Golem's eye and #3: Ptolemy's Gate. I think that, if you liked Harry Potter, then you should like these books too. I have read the Harry Potter series more times than I count and am absolutely in love with them, so I know how you feel. I went in search on new books while I was waiting for the seventh book to come out and the books that I have suggested to you are some of the books that I've found over time. I hope you try them, but most of all, I hope you fall in love with them as much as I did!!! Good luck!

There are a lot of wonderful fantasy books out there! Here's some suggestions from my own reading:
J. R. R. Tolkien (Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit)
Ursula K. Le Guin (Wizard of Earthsea books)
C. S. Lewis (The Chronicles of Narnia)
Diana Wynne Jones (All sorts of amazing fantasies! Try "Howl's Moving Castle" or "The Dark Lord of Derkholm")
Christopher Paolini (The Inheritance books - Eragon, Eldest)
Susan Cooper (The Dark is Rising sequence)
Lloyd Alexander (The Prydain Chronicles)
Madeleine L'Engle (A Wrinkle in Time, A Ring of Endless Light)
Bruce Coville (The Unicorn Chronicles)
You could also ask your school or local librarian or a local bookseller to recommend some titles. Happy reading!

Go to your bookstore and look on the shelves near the Harry Potter books and you'll find LOTS of good 'sf/fantasy' books. None are 'like' Harry Potter, but many are 'kinda like' it ... and if you ask a clerk to recommend something good that is kind of like Harry Potter, you'll have a 'good place' to start ... and KEEP READING!

Check out the Pullman trilogy. The first book is called The Golden Compass. Not exactly wizardly, but some great writing nonetheless.
