A group of my friends and I are hoping to stay in a youth hostel (YHA preferably) after our GCSEs. Are same sex groups, who are all under 18, allowed to stay without an adult? If so, does this apply for the tipi's and camping facilities some of the YHA sites have?
If this is allowed can we book our own private room or are the private rooms only for families?
Many thanks!

Yes!!! If you are all over the age of 16 (doing GCSE's so there could be a couple of 15 yr olds there! check!!!) Don't know about the camp sites, but you can book your own private room if there are any left (cost extra though)
