I took a ptest and i got one line (not pregnant) but i only looked at it for about one or two minutes before throwing it away, was that long enough to wait?

Almost immediately, that was how it was for me. You should give it atleast 3 minutes

You should wait the full waiting time. Most are 10 minutes. Some are 7. DO NOT read a test after the time limit.
However, you should always wait the entire time because some times there is just a tiny bit of hcg and it takes more than a minute to react.

ok read the box if it says that it only needs two minutes than the test was 99 % accurate. But if it needs longer than you need to wait and see if another line shows up. Depending on what kind of test it is there will be instructions. Get one of those tests that pop up with pregnant or not pregnant instead of a line test. It is much easier

Yes. The instructions say not to read it after 10 minutes and a final answer can show up at around 5 minutes or as early as one. Check the paper that came with it--they are all a little different.

the box says to wait five minutes. Have you missed your period yet? If not I would wait till you have and then try again it could be you took it to soon to register you are. If you have I would wait a coulpe of days and try again or go see the doctor. But yes I think you got your answer since I never had to wait the full 5 mins and I am preg with my second child now.

There may be a line on the test that shows up that will tell you when the test is complete (the tests I have used had this). You should give it a good 5 minutes.
I would find the test you threw out or take a new one.

You should have waited at least 3-5 min just in case, sometimes the lines are very fade.

it says 3 mins on the box but i gotta tell you, if any color shows at all on that box even 15 mins after (which by the box is much too late to test) i'd suggest retaking the next morning with your early morning pee, you could just be really early along and not have enough HCG to show... early morning pee is more concentrated and will show more acurately.

mine showed right away, i mean like in a second!! some women are differnt, typically wait 1-3 minutes. i think you were ok to throw it away it was negative. :(
