This may be natural if you're young - also I have a friend who gets her period for two and a half weeks then doesn't get it for another seven weeks. Not everyone has a perfect 21 days off, 7 days on cycle. Good luck!

This could be due to a number of things.

- Have you just started getting your period this past year or so? Periods are usually irregular for the first 1-2 years or so.
- Stressed out?
- Have you gained, or lost a lot of weight recently? This will cause it, too.
- If you've had an abortion recently, this will cause it, as well.
- Do you use drugs? Drugs usually cause your period to be out of wack.

Your best bet would be to visit your Gynecologist.. He/She can help you figure out what the problem is. They'll probably put you on birth control to regulate your cycle.

Good luck!

It could be your diet, if very restricted. Or , if you are very heavy ,this too could cause your symptom, or are you strenuously exercising? All these can effect your cycle. Best bet would be to keep a record of your cycles and then see a Doctor for advice. If you are very stressed, another cause, you could call a nurse on line ,just to ease your mind. Any chance you might be pg? I had a period after I was pg. Isn't being a woman a blast?

I have had that same problem since I was 16 yrs old. You really need to go see a GYN, it took me 4yrs to get pregnant with my son who is now 2 yrs old. My DR. did some test on me and found that I have Poly cystic Ovarian Syndrome. This is a higher level of testosterone in my body. It can happen you young girls staring at the age of 13 and on. I am now 29 yrs old. If in the future you plan on having children you should really go now and get checked for this.

if your on birth control and you keep missing days then thats possible
but of your not on the pill then i would advise you to make an appointment with your doctor and see whats up
if you are young and just started getting your period then i think thats normal but in such a pattern like your experiencing then hun you may be stressed
take a breather and just chill out talk to your doctor and see what alternitive you have to work with
stress does alot to the body,

good luck

You should go to the doctor. You have a irregular period. They would probably suggest birth control to regulate your period.

Hi
I'm not a Dr., but I do know my body. I'm reaching the age of menopause and this sometimes happens to me. I don't know your age, but our bodies can have a way of switching up on us. Hormones play a key factor, sometimes the amount of sexual experiences we have, whether we go from regular encounters to abstinence, I've been told, can throw our hormones out of whack. You should let your OB/Gyn know your concerns, better safe.

You might be anemic which is just when you have a lack of iron in your blood. Also hormones do play a HUGE factor in it. It is more common then you think to have irregular periods.
However, if you are sexually active you might be pregnant.

Ouch. That sucks. If you're worried, go see an OB/GYN, who will put you on birth control, which will regulate them to about one week on, three weeks off.

it might also have to do with your body fat composition. it takes a lot of energy for your body to go through the menstral cycle and if you don't have enough body fat your body will halt the cycle due to lack of energy. becuase a lot of people often fluctuate their nutritional habits one month you may have that extra energy and the next you might not.
