I wear makeup but not too much. I only wear eyeliner and mascara, because it makes my eyes look prettier and not as big and round as they look without any makeup. When I look pretty I feel good. I guess that's one reason why most women wear makeup - to look and feel good. Some women also wear make up to express themselves. Just like people dress in a certain way to express their inner beings. For example, there is a girl in my class who is always dressed up in 50's style, even her hair and make up is done in 50's fashion (every single day!!!)

My skin is oily, so I wear some powder to keep it in check. I also wear mascara and lip gloss. If I am dressing up, I add a lipstick and maybe a light eyeshadow. Like clothing or jewelry, make-up is an accessory for women. It should be natural and a compliment, not a mask! Female hormones tend to make women break-out and have uneven, oily skin. A little make-up makes us feel confident.

well, you touched a tricky subject. Less is more during the daytime. I wear none if I'm home and not going out. When i do go out at night i use more since the lighting is different. Makeup does it's revenge on skin over the years, people add more thinking it will hide the aging process but all the time they really just need really good skin care products, like creams, and treatments......

Make up has been a tradition for women since th edawn of time. Believe it or not, in all species in the animal kingdom, the males are always the more colorful of the species. We, as humans, are totally the opposite.
I think that make up is a personal choice. Like for you, it seems that you don't like a lot of makeup on a woman. For you, a girl who wears a little just to accent will be fine.
Some women, like Tammy Faye Baker, look like they applied their makeup like they used a spatula and putty! Yes, a lot of makeup can be gross, but like I said, it's a personal choice. Good for you for seeing and liking the natural beauty!

I wear makeup, but not alot. I have sun damage on my face, and I wear makeup because the sun damage has prematurely aged my face. I agree with you, that too much is unattractive. Not all makeup is bad for the skin. There are companies that have makeup that actually helps skin.

I seldom wear make up. I think it's hardly a question of choice it all depend on the education you received. My mother doens't wear a lot of make up and when she does it looks so natural that nobody notices it. Her attitude helped me feel secure about my feminity: I don't need to make up my face to feel like the woman I am. I know I can be prettier with make up on but the fact is that I like my face either way so I put on make up only for special occasions. With preppy hair, combed brows and a clear complexion (which I finally got when I gave up traditional skin care products that contain harmful chemicals my face couldn't cope with anymore) I look sophisticated enough to go bare skin. And I think it's one of the most subtil ways to be classy. But everyone has his own taste...

I think girls use make-up for many reasons. First of all it covers blemishes that we want to hide from the world. But second, its fun. Sometimes I get into doing my eye-make up with mis-matching colors and trying to be cute yet funky. And it has resulted in too much make-up, so I try to keep myself in check. We all have our things, and not all women wear so much make-up. Don't judge the ones that do. I'm sure you're not perfect.

Many women feel insecure so makeup covers up blemishes that make them self conscience. I too think that layers of make up are gross looking and in the long run make your skin saggy. On the other hand it enhances features and if applied correctly. And hell its fun to put on =)
