I have 4 girls and as soon as I got a positive result from a test, I called the doctor and got right in. I have never heard of a doctor not seeing pregnant women until week 10. You need to start vitamins immediately and get a medical history going. Congratulations!!

Do not wait once you find out you are get to the OBGYN because you may need to take prenatle pills and you are going to have to have tests done to ensure a healthy pregnancy. Though a at home pregnancy test is almost always right when it comes to saying positive I would call the OBGYN now. Since it doesn't give false positives only fasle negitives so congrats on becomeing a mother.

You should go set up an appointment with and OBGYN as soon as possible. You don't have to go to planned parenthood to verify the positive result. The OBGYN can do that on your first visit as well as tell you about how far along you are.

go as soon as you can.. The earlier the better to start proper prenatal care and nutrition. Its very important to get enough ( but not too much) folic acid in the very early weeks. you should start a prenatal vitamin right away. You can get them by perscription or right over the counter. Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting" by Heidi Murkoff. It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. I refer to it almost daily right now and I am due Feb 2, 2007. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

My OB has always had me come in right away. If you haven't started on prenatal vitamins, do so right away. The folic acid in them is so important in early brain development. Your OB will most likely give you lots of samples, but you can buy over the counter prenatal vitamins until you get into see your OB. You can also check with Planned Parenthood and see if they can give you some until you can get your first OB appointment. Best of luck to you.

I would call your obgyn tell then you took a test and came out +, they'll ask you when the first day of your last period was, and then they would schedule you an appointment, usually around your 10th week. But I wouldn't wait to call them.

nope call right away and let them know, usually they will ask you a bunch of questions like when your last menstrual period was and they will try to determine from there about how far a long you would be and they will set up an appointment somewhere around 10 weeks.
that's what they did with my first anyway!
Congrats and good luck!!

Go right away. They will confirm that you are pregnant then they will put you on vitamins, talk about tests you will need to take, etc. to set you off on a healthy pregnancy.
