I was curious as to when they would look to see how my son is positioned etc. I have also only gained 7 lbs total and I am 29 weeks along. My sister-in-law has gained 3 lbs and she is 28 weeks along. However she is a little heavy set and I am not skinny nor heavy set. I have a normal frame. Has anyone else gained a little bit this far into pregnancy?

That is incrediable that you only gained 7 lbs, not me, anyways they usually don't do anymore ultrasounds, unless there is a problem. When they check you vaginally the can tell what position the baby's head is in. Good Luck.

It really depends on your insurance company, how many they cover and if your doctor feels it is needed. With my first son my insurance covered two and this time only one, but I had a cyst that had to be checked so my insurance did cover the extra ultrasound. I myself have gained 14 pounds and I am 34 weeks, but I didn't really put on any weight till I was about 26 weeks, so in a little less than 10 weeks I gained about 8 of those 14 pounds.

I was 230lbs. when I became pregnant the fourth time. I had miscarried a month earlier. I am now expecting any day (40.5 weeks) now and have only gained a total of 3 to 5 pounds.

I have thinned out in the neck, face, and derrière. In the beginning I worried and asked my OBGYN, she reassured me this is very normal for a woman who has a high BMI. I am hoping that I can used this to my advantage and lose more weight while breastfeeding.

I gained 50lbs. with my first child, starting at around 145, and lost only around 20 of it before getting pregnant with my second three years later. I gained 27 pounds with him and had stayed at around 200 until my father passed.

I have only had one ultrasound. My OB told me that if she suspects that the baby is getting very large she will schedule another one. I am on govt health care and it only pays for the one unless medically necessary.

You need to gain more weight! Doctors recommend you gain 25-35 pounds during pregnancy. 3-5 pounds first trimester and 1 pound a week during second and third trimester. They will probably not do another ultrasound if you had one around 20 weeks unless you are high risk. Not gaining weight is considered high risk, and is really bad for the baby.

I am 37 weeks and have only gained 11 lbs. My baby is measuring almost 7 lbs now. I did have a last ultrasound at 36 weeks. If the doctor feels you need to have another one then he'll do it. You need to ask him for sure. Good luck

Vaginal maximum probably- my daughter had her first one @ 6 weeks...got here upon out she's having twins! They did it vaginally @ 9 weeks too. Had a abdomen ultrasound @13 weeks. We go lower back in 2 weeks, with somewhat of success we may be able to be sure the sexes!

I am 32 weeks and I have LOST 20 pounds. As long as your doc feels that the baby is gaining weight then you are fine!

I don't know about the weight gain... but they will do an U/s soon to check all that. I can't tell you for sure if it was 32w or not, but I had mine done around that time.

They will do one if there is a problem with the baby, or with you.
