1. no. i don't give the KKK that much power or credit
2. end racism? likely, in favor of classism
3. very first person- my black 3rd grade teacher who insisted none of us could succeed, and we were all thieves. then a close second, my white 6th grade teacher who gave all the black students Cs and the whites As (which was weird, because i did my white friend's homework). She retired afterwards
4. last- some random guy in the store who assumed i was dumb as hell without me even opening my mouth. But i haven't really scanned through YA today.
5. Racist TO me about ANOTHER race? the first? some random church member who told me all whites were the devil, and i was going to be just like them if i kept hanging around with them

The way to end racism has to be with the person in the mirror, whether you're black, white, indian, latino, asian, middle eastern, it doesn't matter. It is simply about stop using history as an excuse to validate your feelings, and take personal responsibility for your actions and accept the consequences without using the race card everytime something adverse happens to you, as nobody is a stranger to adversity.

here's the deal on racism from my point of view - i am mixed race, but you wouldn't know, to look at me i'm french or some sort of white guy. as a senior executive in a large national company, i can tell you that in every job i have held i have experienced racism. not aimed at me but aimed at others. when i can, i stop it. that's not always possible, but i never forget.
at this point in my life i make sure people know early on that my mom is black, so they don't say something that makes me fire them.
the fact is, racism exist, but we can't focus on the negative. we have to focus on everything else.
for every racists, there are at least 10 that are not. besides, it's not our problem, it's the racists problem.
just imagine going thru life so ignorant? it's like thinking the world is flat...
