No, a garage will still take the car as part exchange but the valuation they place on it will take into account it's history.
If the car has been repaired and does not show as damaged on the register then a garage probably would not find out that it had been in an accident until after the sale was completed.
Salesmen only give part exchange cars a cursory examination as it's not their money they're spending so this may actually be a good place to offload it!

It depends on the car and its value and how much you expect for it. They have every right to refuse to accept it as part ex as they cannot resell it if it shows as an insurance write off. Means they must take a hit and sell it into the trade at often a loss.
Turn it around and ask yourself if the car your buying had been involved in an accident, would you be happy to buy it?

Usually not, but it's worth a try. It all depends on how big the accident was and if it's been repaired well.

if it was recorded and on the database then the value is basically lower than normal and viewed as a damaged repairable and now by law you have to declare such things even if selling privately.

it depends on the value of the car after they fix it. But if they did you wouldn't get a lot
