This is enough. If you want to know more just follow the story further. Most Americans don't know, or don't want to acknowledge this, but here it is. The US deposed the democratically elected President of Iran in 1954 and set up a brutal dictatorship under the Shah we installed and supported until he was thrown out by the people and they went fundamentalist after that.

US supported Iraq, Soviets supported Iran.
