As boring as this sounds. Take some water dab it on your lips then Vaseline. It locks the moisture in. Works like a hot damn. Do it before you go to bed and voila you have nice soft lips in the morning

Make sure you exfoliate your lips gently to get rid of any flakes. You can use a damp washcloth or mix a little honey with brown sugar and scrub your lips with that (far tastier than a washcloth!) Don't use a toothbrush because it is too harsh, and has bacteria from being in between your teeth...yuck! Do this before bed and then put some Vaseline on your lips...it's the best thing you can get at the drugstore! Angelina Jolie uses it! If this doesn't work and your lips are still really dry, you can try some pure shea butter which you can order online from L'Occitane.

Vaseline IS ok for lips...wouldn't use it on my face, but lips don't have pores or produce oil, there's nothing to "clog" or prevent from breathing.

There is a little trick I learned back in the day! Put a little bit of veggie oil on your lips and then rub sugar on them to slightly exfoliate dead skin! After you finished (only need t o do this for a few seconds) wash off with lukewarm water and a washcloth! As for a lip blam I love Burt's Bee's! It is mainly an organic beauty line and it works wonders! There are lip exfoliants you can buy on the market if you rather go that route vs a home remedy! Good luck!

BTW Vaseline is petroleum based - its clogging and doesnt allow skin to breathe! I learned that in beauty school! We did a scientific experiment with vaseline I wouldnt put that sh*t on my face or lips for that matter!

Burt's bees is soothing and cooling. It helps my chapped lips so much. It's a beeswax lip balm with peppermint and rosemary extracts. There is maany Burt's Bees products for face, lips, feet, and body. The tubes of balm are about 1.50 to 2.00 but they are soooooooooo worth it! Try looking for it at a drugstore, hallmark, or even Wal- Mart. Good luck!

Carmex IS really good, but it will make dry lips tingle and sometimes that can be a little irritating. Also, you tend to become dependant on carmex. Vasoline is a quick fix but it is a little TOO greasy for me. Burts Bees is the best I have found out there so far.

This is the tip my grandmother told me about and I have done it myself for years with great results! It's cheap and there are no chemicals!

Before you go to sleep at night pat your lips with some water and then put vaseline over the top of the water to seal it in over your lips. In the morning, your lips should be soft again. Make sure that you are drinking plenty of water.

Also, you may want to invest in a humidifier in your house or apartment. It will keep the air moist and will help you with dry skin. It is also good for breathing better too!

vaseline works great. If you have consistant chapping and peeling lips due to a medication drying you out, use Mary Kay's lip repair treatment. Your lips will never peel again. It is great for folks that have their lips peeling daily. Amazing product. My mother used it and is seriously ill. It works. If not a medical problem, then vaseline is great. Works great for facial hydration also. Put on your moisturizer and seal with vaseline overnight.
