At the moment we have;
1. Drugs readily available for All AGES, EVERYWHERE.
2. Drugs are controlled and distributed by PROFIT based organized criminals.
3. The profits of such go on to fund further crime and drug production.
4. The drugs are not controlled thus (as in this case) deadly mixes are sold for more profit at the cost of harming the end users.
5. Government misinformation causes people to not know who or what to trust when it comes to drug education, so they try for themselves.

And thus the known solutions;
1. Legalize all drugs and make available by doctors prescription; This prevents
a) Impure deadly mixes
b) Dealers / pushers making new users on the street
c) Availability (local pushers gone) and desirability to the underage (doctors prescription removes novelty value)

Give people back their freedom to choose and educate them honestly - this is the way forward.

In the UK more people (per head) smoke cannabis than the netherlands where it is legal!!!!

I have been saying that for years!

There is too much money on law enforcement...AND they would also have to admit they were wrong!

Well June , sorry but you are misinformed,ed in the art of living a normal life and enjoying yourself, the odd person takes Alcohol at work when they shouldn't, unfortunate , yes but the people that do this have an additive personality and the fact makes you lee able to function than other drugs such as cocaine a class A should make you wonder the principles behind banning such substances achieve, sure it's creates money and I am sure the government are pleased with it and the jobs it creates

I agree. However, you have missed other advantages:
1) it takes away the street/celebrity "cred" associated with drugs like cocaine
2) you know who the addicts are and can help them come off the drug
3) the stuff is cheap to produce and if there was little or no profit in dealing/growing the supply chain would collapse and perhaps the poppy and cocoa fields would be ploughed over.
4) crime would fall as most of it is drug related
But there is a down side for the police, how do you promote, earn more money if numbers fall?. The cynic in me thinks that the Chief Constables and the like wouldn't like that too much.
It is perhaps a tad simplistic and there are reasons also to keep it illegal but it should be considered because the "lock them up" brigade approach just costs us all money.

Drugs to aid physical or mental illness are available through your GP including Cannabis (eg Cancer patients suffering from sever pain), Heroin addicts who are trying to detox etc.

Heaven help the world population if everyone was addicted to cannabis, I don't think there would be many doctors able enough to save a persons life druggy or no, would you.

What pretty picture are you painting of the world's future!

The laws are currently in place to try and protect the world health for men women and children. I can't see that legalising all drugs is going to safeguard the future generations.

Would we then need to make laws that any one smoking cannabis, taking heroin etc is prohibited from producing and caring for innocent children?

We all know that whilst under the influence of drink and drugs people cannot react to emergency situations that could save the life of a child in your care.

Never mind your own safety or that of any other adult should you take it upon yourself to drive a vehicle or undertaken any other task whilst under the influence - light a fire - employed as a fire fighter etc. etc.

People do have the right to kill themselves its true but do not think they have the right to kill another through negligence of their own wellbeing.

We already have far too many mental health problems in our society without the likes of you thinking it would be ok for the entire world population to get addicted.

you know i smoke cannabis and if it were legal i wouldn't just say it on here and hide from the out side world
if it were legal it could be like going for a pint in the local and little said
but i will admit it takes longer than booze to come out of the system and is harder to detect for the police
drink driving is bad but smoke driving ?
well that's even more .....
if it were legal i think less people would smoke it tho
as the secrete thing wont be there and the buzz will be lost
just like the fags once it's made illegal in July to smoke in public places then people will go underground
if it were legal less crime i admit would happen
i can afford to smoke £20 worth as i dint dope up to face day to day life that £20 lasts me 6 months but i know people out there need a joint to get out of bed they are the ones who do crime
also it's good for arthritis that's why i smoke it
if the government made it legal i bet it would be as medicine after all they are doing tests on it for this side of things right now

Drugs dealing is illegal because of the fact that the government cant control the taxes on the money that the dealers are making and we all know the government wants all of our money no matter how we make it.

too much beurocracy involved to efficently manage such a vast diverse area such as illegal drugs and supply distribution and after care management,ps:a lot of death on drugs is caused by the purity of hard drugs and not impurities.

my theory is this:

Its a known fact that we only use 10% of our brain, drugs give us the key to unlock the other 90%, now, I believe that there are so many laws on drugs because the government do not want us to use the other 90% of our brains.

IT;S A CONSPIRICY, MAN!!!
