Smoking. It's deadly for both the smoker and the people around them.

Garrrr, I would say being 100lbs overweight, cause being fat effects so many other areas of your life. It effects your self esteem, your social acceptance, clothing, stares from others, maybe even job status(??),etc. Plus, I could stop smoking quicker than I could loose 100 lbs. Being 100lbs overweight will also weigh down the ship, make it harder to swim, require more provisions, and cause the plank to break before one could walk its entire length. Now where's the fun in that? It could also be dangerous if you're lost at see, the crew is starving to death, and you're the plump one.

Smoking. The effects of being overweight can be mitigated, if you are fat and still eat healthy. If you smoke there is a 2/3 chance you will be killed by smoking. I don't like those odds.

I think a smoker that is 110 lbs overweight is the worst

Both are unhealthy. You can quit smoking, and you can lose weight. As far as heart strain & long term effects, smoking for a year is unhealthier than being overweight for one year.

I think the smoking, but I must admit I'm a bit biased because I'm a non-smoker and dislike second-hand smoke. At least it'd be more unhealthy for *me* if someone next to me is smoking, while it doesn't matter if someone next to me is overweight! :)

They're both unhealthy, but I'd say the smoking is more unhealthy because the damage is irreversible after a certain point.
