Marina is more green and royal is a deeper blue. If you need help matching colors go down to the hardwood store and get a paint sample. Their free and it will be less stressful. Good luck!

Ask for swatches, samples, or if it's on-line, ask what Pantone PMS colour they're using.

As a graphic artist, we see people (companies) naming their stuff all sorts of whacky names, some less whacky like "Yahoo Orange."

Here's a link to a very abbreviated colour list: http://www.browndogmarketing.com/bdm_pantone.html

(that's not my company; we use books of swatches directly from the company and you must pay for the use of them. Pantone PMS colours are the industry standard.)

If you have Photoshop, and it's on-line: take a screen shot of the colour or drag and drop it onto your desktop. Basically, get that swatch. Open Photoshop and using the "magic wand," select that colour. In the "info" box, it will tell you the CMYK colour breakdown (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black). Take a note of those #'s and where they go.

Make sure foreground is selected in your toolbox. When you click on it, the "Color Picker" will open. In the boxes marked CMYK, type in the #'s you made note of earlier. Then, click on "Custom." Use the drop-down menu to "Pantone Solid Coated" and it will give you the Pantone PMS colour.

ie: C: 0, M: 100, Y: 99, K: 4 makes PMS 485.

Then, you can look up the actual PMS #'s somewhere else and get a better idea of exactly what you're looking at.

Everyoen is different., but Marine blue usually has more green in it and Royal blue is a bright, deep blue like the blue of the Kansas City "Royals" baseball team.

Marina blue would have a lighter tint in it plus it is more tropical.Royal blue would just simply be a darker hue. Does the wedding have a theme? You could see if it is appropriate for the theme.Thanks.
