It's almost essential these days. Just mention PRINCE2 to most managers and they'll fall at your feet.

Are you sure you want to be in Project Management? The pay might be good but most rank and file workers think Project Managers are worse than poo.

I heard one sentence that will some up the general opinion of PMs.

It is virtually compulsory. Prince2 is the most common in the UK and some other places, but is by no means the only methodology.

Unfortunately, virtually all recruitment consultants have the charisma of a slug, the personality of a toad and the attention span of a Goldfish. If their "Person-Spec" from their client (the employer) says Prince2, then you won't be considered if you don't have it.
