is there any way to get an old dime clean? b/c when i was at work yesterday there was a really old dime with a piece of it cut out...i know it's not worth anything anymore but it's still really cool looking but it's really dirty and i'm not sure if there's any way to clean it? i tried scrubbing it with soap and water.

Try some tarn-x it's good stuff and made for jewelery,clean your silerware as well

You could try throwing in the wash the next time you wash a load of clothes. Any time I've left change in the pockets of my pants when I've done laundry, the coins have come out of the wash looking shiny and clean! I wouldn't do this with valuable coins, but it might work for the one you have. You could also try putting it in the dishwasher as long as you have some way to prevent it from being tossed around the dishwasher too much. Again, this isn't for valuable coins, but will probably work for the one you have.

Pour about 1/2 cup white vinegar in a jar. Add 1/2 tsp salt. Throw any coins with grime in and close the jar. Shake it a little every now and then, and let it sit. It should be clean by the end of the day.

You could also just scrub it with a toothbrush and toothpaste
