First off, my husband and I have NOT been actively planning a pregnancy, but we have been careless in our birth control methods lately. This week I have been experiencing consistent period-like cramps in my pelvis, along with "twinges," random heartburn and general strange stomach behavior. My period is still about 2 weeks' off, so I can't figure out what could be going on. If ovulation occurs around the middle of the cycle, I don't see how I could be experiencing pregnancy cramping so soon considering conception would have been on or prior to 1/7 and my period ended around 1/4. But I've NEVER had cramps like these outside my period before. It's too early to try a pregnancy test, so does anyone know of anything else that could cause these symptoms?

I cheated and took the first pregnancy test of my life today, knowing it's way too soon, and of course it was negative. I am wondering how you ladies out there who have done this before were able to stand waiting for your periods to get finality, I'm feeling really consumed by this and I still have two weeks to go before I might be able to know for sure. Any advice???

You shouldn't have symptoms that early. They say if it's to early to test it's to early for symptoms. I have had ovarian cysts though and your symptoms sound a lot like mine at that time. You should probably see your doctor.

Every body is different and every woman ovulates at a different time. I had the worst stomach pains I have ever had in my life starting the day after I conceived my daughter. I know when I conceived her because I did not have sex for a month before or after the day. They were horrible. The heartburn is part of it. One night I actually thought I might be having a heart attack.
Take a blood test at your doctors office.
Good luck.

Cramping in early pregnancy is very common. You should take a pregnancy test when you expect your next period.

thats exactly what happened to me. it seems like the day after conception i started getting dizzy. then a few days after that, i thought i had what was suppose to be period cramping, but it wasnt. its perfectly normal to cramp when pregnant. it just means your body is making room for the developing baby!
